Starburst 星系中中性 interstellar 介质的金属离子

摘要
由于其接近性，局部starburst星系非常适合进行高分辨率和高灵敏度的多波段观测，以检验我们关于星形成、巨型恒星演化、星际介质（ISM）的物理和化学演化的想法。利用FUSE和STIS的高分辨率紫外光谱 spectroscopy，最近已经有可能详细描述局部starburst星系中中性ISM的特征，因为该波段范围内存在大量来自最常见重元素的离子的吸收线。在此，我们报告了两颗相邻starburst星系（I Zw 18和NGC 1705）的结果，并展示了这些结果如何与这些恒星系统的星形成历史和演化状态相关。
