摘要
轨道衰减机制表明双白矮星并合不可避免,但极为罕见。尽管部分并合导致爆炸,幸存者会重新点燃氦并明亮燃烧数万至数百万年。候选幸存者包括极端氦星、R CrB 变星以及各类富氦亚亮星。幸存者表面的核废料提供了恒星在并合前核历史及并合期间核合成的证据。广泛而深入的光谱巡天为未来发现提供了丰富前景。
