利用永磁体和马吕斯定律测量橄榄油中的法拉第效应

摘要

我们提出了一种简单的永磁体装置,可用于测量气体、液体和固体中的法拉第效应。通过拟合透射曲线作为偏振器角度(马吕斯定律)的函数,我们平均了激光强度的波动,并可以提取小至±\pm 50 μ\murads的相移。我们专注于测量橄榄油中的法拉第效应,发现在约20 ^{\circ}C、波长659.2 nm的条件下,维尔德系数为VV = 192 ±\pm 1 deg T1^{-1} m1^{-1}。我们证明,维尔德系数可以用类德鲁德色散定律A/(λ2λ02)A/(\lambda^2 - \lambda_0^2)进行拟合,系数为AA = 7.9 ±\pm 0.2 ×\times 107^{7} deg T1^{-1} m1^{-1} nm2^2λ0\lambda_0 = 142 ±\pm 13 nm。
