在sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV的质子-反质子对撞中通过Lambda_b -> Lambda_c+ pi-衰变测量Lambda_b寿命

摘要
我们报告在由Tevatron对撞机上的CDF II探测器收集的、对应于1.1 fb^-1的质子-反质子对撞样本中，通过Lambda_b重子衰变到Lambda_C+ pi-末态对其寿命的测量。利用约3000个完全重建的Lambda_b事件样本，我们测得tau(Lambda_b) = 1.401 ± 0.046 (统计) ± 0.035 (系统) ps (对应c·tau(Lambda_b) = 420.1 ± 13.7 (统计) ± 10.6 (系统) μm，其中c为光速)。该结果与世界平均B^0寿命之比为tau(Lambda_b)/tau(B^0) = 0.918 ± 0.038 (统计和系统)，与近期理论预言吻合良好。
