两相氙中单电子发射的测量

摘要

我们首次测量了两相惰性气体探测器中单电子发射的电致发光响应。在ZEPLIN-II实验——一个用于WIMP暗物质搜寻的两相氙探测器——31天本底运行期间,液态氙中产生的单电离电子在薄气层中被探测到。单电子响应的压力依赖性和幅度与先前氙中电致发光产额的测量结果一致。我们讨论了不同的光致电离过程作为本工作中研究的单电子样本的可能原因。这一观测可能对未来大规模两相系统的设计和运行产生影响。
