中微子带电电流相互作用中粲粒子产生的测量

摘要
CHORUS探测器的核乳胶靶在1994年至1997年间暴露于CERN SPS的平均能量为27 GeV的宽能段中微子束流中。利用新开发的自动扫描系统,在乳胶靶中定位并完全重建了总计约100000个至少含有一个已识别μ子的带电电流中微子相互作用。通过识别粒子衰变的程序搜索粲粒子。在核乳胶中观测衰变使得能够选择具有极低本底和最小运动学偏差的样本。通过目视检查,筛选并确认了2013个末态含有粲强子候选者的带电电流相互作用。测得中微子诱导的粲产生率相对于带电电流截面的比值为σ(ν_μ N → μ⁻ C X)/σ(CC) = (5.75 ± 0.32 统计 ± 0.30 系统)%。还得到了粲产生截面随中微子能量的变化关系。结果与之前的测量值吻合良好。粲夸克强子化产生以下粲强子及其相对份额(以%计):f_D⁰ = 43.7 ± 4.5, f_Λ_c⁺ = 19.2 ± 4.2, f_D⁺ = 25.3 ± 4.2, f_D_s⁺ = 11.8 ± 4.7。
