与引力和湍流相比,磁场(B场)在恒星形成过程中的重要性如何?其重要性是否依赖于尺度和位置?我们总结了朝向大纤维状红外暗云G34以及高质量恒星形成区W51中一个致密核的亚毫米波尘埃偏振观测。我们探测到垂直于或平行于G34纤维轴方向的B场取向。这些B场取向进一步与局地速度梯度相关。朝向G34的三个核,我们发现B场、引力和湍流之间的重要性各不相同,似乎决定了不同类型的碎裂。在朝向引力主导的坍缩核W51 e2的最高分辨率下,我们分辨出新的B场特征,例如汇聚的B场线和可能的磁通道。
