MAD@VLT:深入 Omega Centauri 的拥挤星场

摘要

我们展示了银河系球状星团 (GC) Omega Cen 的深度且精确的近红外 (NIR) 测光数据。数据系利用 ESO 甚大望远镜 (VLT) 上的多共轭自适应光学演示仪 (MAD) 采集。图像前所未有的质量使得在中心拥挤区域进行精确测光成为可能。初步结果表明,Omega Cen 中不同恒星种群之间的年龄弥散是有限的。
