IceCube 宇宙射线事件中缪子的横向分布

摘要
在宇宙射线空气簇射中,缪子相对于簇射中心的横向分离度是衡量缪子母粒子在宇宙射线相互作用中获得的横向动量的指标。IceCube 观测到的宇宙射线相互作用产生的缪子,其横向分离距离簇射核心可达 400 米,比此前的测量结果大 6 倍。这些缪子源自入射宇宙射线的高横向动量( GeV/c)相互作用或高能次级相互作用。分离分布在大数值处显示出向幂律的过渡,表明存在可由微扰量子色动力学描述的硬分量。然而,此处测试的宇宙射线模型(包括那些包含粲夸克相互作用的模型)均未能很好地重现这些事件的发生率及其天顶角分布。这一差异或许可以通过模拟中目前未充分纳入的更高比例的介子和粲粒子来解释。
