摘要
激光实验正成为天文研究中补充观测与理论建模的新工具。在超新星爆发的激波前沿已观测到局域强磁场。对该观测的实验确认与物理机制辨识,对于理解星际介质的演化至关重要。然而,在实验室中处理流体动力学不稳定性与环境磁场之间的相互作用一直具有挑战性。在此,我们开发了一个实验平台来检验磁化 Richtmyer-Meshkov 不稳定性(RMI)。测得的增长速度与线性理论一致,且磁场放大与 RMI 增长相关。我们的实验首次在天体物理条件下验证了与激波诱导界面不稳定性相关的磁场湍流放大。对磁化等离子体中基本过程的实验阐明,在诸如聚变等离子体与行星科学等多种情境中普遍重要。
