条状星系的运动学与光度测量作为互补工具

近期在观测技术和星系运动学理论建模方面的进展,使我们能够不仅仅依赖光学形态学来判别星系的结构和动力学。我们在三个条状星系(UGC 10205, NGC 6221和NGC4340)上展示,运动学与光度测量都对于完全理解这些星系的属性至关重要。运动学和光度谱测数据使我们能够检测到诸如条纹和气体冲击等结构,这些结构在图像中直接可见性不强;相反,成像对于理解星系的运动学和动力学行为至关重要。
