泰帕星双星类类超新星T CrB是否已晚期:近期光度演化及与过去前外泊行为的比较

摘要
T CrB是一种泰帕星双星类类超新星,上一次外泊发生在1946年。鉴于其约80年的复发时间尺度,下一次外泊备受天文学界瞩目。本文分析了T CrB的光度曲线,比较近期的光度演化与历史数据,以评估nova外泊的潜在预测指标。虽然1946年及预期外泊前的“超活跃”阶段异常相似,但随后的光度行为却不同。我们发现2023年观察到的亮度下降——被一些人解释为“外泊前的浅谷”——偏离了1946年事件前所记录的深部最低点,且不可靠地预测外泊时间。近期的光度和光谱观测表明,该系统正在返回高吸积状态。鉴于此,外泊可能正在发生,甚至没有明显的前兆。虽然T CrB的下一次外泊将是重大科学事件,但其预期峰值亮度为V ~ 2 mag,突显了为何这一天文现象将是视觉上相对温和却极具天文学意义的天象。
