行星际激波处质子向高能的不规则注入

摘要
热粒子如何被加速至超热能量是一个尚未解决的问题，对许多天体物理系统至关重要。我们报道了在高马赫数行星际激波上游超热粒子群体出现不规则、色散性增强的新观测。我们将观测到的行为解释为源于激波前沿不规则性的超热粒子不规则“注入”。我们的发现与自洽模拟结果直接对比，为研究常忽略激波结构化的遥远天体物理系统提供了重要见解。
