通过锐利多波段观测审视耀变体 TXS 0506+056(2017–2019)

摘要

耀变体 TXS 0506+056 于 2017 年 9 月成为天体物理界焦点,当时 IceCube 探测到的高能中微子(IceCube-170922A)在 3 σ\sigma 水平上与该源的 γ\gamma 射线耀发相关联。这一多信使光子-中微子关联迄今为止仍是有史以来观测到的最显著关联。在 IceCube-170922A 事件之前,TXS 0506+056 是一个很少被研究的天体。为更好地刻画其宽带发射,我们组织了一项持续 16 个月(2017 年 11 月至 2019 年 2 月)的多波段观测活动,覆盖射电波段(Mets"ahovi、OVRO)、光学/紫外(ASAS-SN、KVA、REM、Swift/UVOT)、X 射线(Swift/XRT、NuSTAR)、高能 γ\gamma 射线(Fermi/LAT)及甚高能(VHE)γ\gamma 射线(MAGIC)。在 γ\gamma 射线方面,该源的行为与 2017 年显著不同:MAGIC 观测显示 2018 年 12 月存在耀发活动,而活动其余时间(累计 74 小时曝光)仅显示 4σ\sigma 水平的超出;Fermi/LAT 观测显示若干短时标(天到周)耀发,不同于 2017 年的长期增亮。在较低能段未探测到显著耀发。射电光变曲线显示流量上升趋势,其他波段未见。我们在轻子-强子情景下对多波段能谱分布建模,其中强子发射以 Bethe-Heitler 和介子衰变级联形式出现在 X 射线和 VHE γ\gamma 射线中。根据本文模型,2018 年 12 月的 γ\gamma 射线耀发与一次中微子发射相关,但该发射过于短暂且亮度不足,未被当前中微子仪器探测到。
