摘要
本文考察过去数十年计算机的发展过程，以识别对其影响最大的因素。我们描述这些因素并用以预测进一步发展的方向。为解决这些问题，我们采用“计算机容量”这一概念，它使我们仅依据架构描述即可从理论上估算计算机性能。
