提高先进LIGO探测器对地震的鲁棒性

摘要

远震或远距离地震经常干扰先进LIGO等地面引力波探测器的运行。本文提出了EQ模式,这是一种新的全局控制方案,由一系列优化的控制滤波器自动序列组成,可在地震期间减少并协调地震隔离平台的运动。这反过来又抑制了干涉仪臂之间的差分运动,从而降低了100 mHz以下频率的DARM信号。我们的方法极大地提高了干涉仪在地震期间保持运行的能力,在光束方向上地面速度均方根值高达3.9 μm/s,为两台探测器创下了新纪录。这为先进LIGO探测器管理地震引起的高地面运动的能力树立了地震控制的里程碑,为在其他极端环境条件下进一步实现鲁棒运行开辟了道路。
