对邻近恒星表面进行空间分辨有望推进我们对恒星物理学的认知。利用光学长基线干涉测量,我们在此展示了快速旋转的热星河鼓二(Altair)的近红外图像,其分辨率<1毫角秒。该图像清楚地揭示了重力昏暗对高度扭曲的恒星光球的强烈影响。均匀旋转恒星的标准模型无法解释我们的结果,这需要差异旋转、替代的重力昏暗定律,或两者兼有。
