通过深层光学约束探讨中子星-黑洞混合物中的质量间隙

摘要

引力波事件 S250206dm 作为第一个可能位于质量间隙内的中子星碰撞候选事件,提供了探索该系统电磁信号的独特机会。本文报告了以新建 2.5 米 Wide Field Survey Telescope (WFST) 为基础的深层多波段搜索,覆盖约 64% 的局化区域,5-sigma 限值亮度为 23 幺。共鉴定出 12 个潜在候选对象,但均不太可能与 S250206dm 有关。该非探测为该事件关联的克尔诺维拉提供了目前最严格的约束。关键的是,WFST 观测 alone 可排除一个相当于 269 Mpc 处的类似 AT 2017gfo 的事件。基于喷出物质量限制,质量比 Q >= 3.2 的中子星-黑洞组合受到否定。该光学推导的质量比约束首次达到了与引力信号推断相当的精度。这项工作目前为此类事件提供了最佳观测,并展示了快速、深层跟踪观测在约束致密二进制祖先属性方面的潜力,为探索质量间隙的构成提供了关键洞见。
