利用STAR-RICH探测器识别高横动量粒子

摘要

STAR-RICH探测器扩展了STAR实验在快度中心区对带电强子的粒子识别能力。该探测器代表了基于CsI的近距离聚焦RICH探测器在对撞机实验中的首次应用。它能够识别高达3 GeV/c的π介子和kaon以及高达5 GeV/c的质子。描述了该装置在首届RHIC运行中的特性和性能。
