远地尾中热流异常遗迹？

2007年2月至3月，太阳地球关系观测台（STEREO）在远尾夜侧磁鞘中观测到一个类热流异常（HFA）事件。切向间断的磁信号可见，但等离子体离子数据的分辨率不足以用于我们的分析，因此给出了一种无需太阳风速度测量即可识别 HFA 的方法。在远尾夜侧磁鞘观测到的该事件可能是某个 HFA 事件的遗迹，即一个不太活跃的电流片。这一观测表明 HFA 的寿命可能达数十分钟，远长于预期的数分钟。
