HIP 38939B:利用Pan-STARRS1在银道面发现的一颗新的基准T型褐矮星

摘要

我们报道了一颗宽轨道褐矮星伴星的发现,该伴星围绕一颗轻度贫金属([Fe/H]=-0.24)、低银纬(b = 1.88 deg)的K4V型恒星HIP 38939运行。该伴星通过与主星的共同自行运动以及其红色光学(Pan-STARRS1)和蓝色红外(2MASS)颜色被发现。它的投影间距为1630 AU,近红外光谱类型为T4.5。因此,它是已知围绕主序星运行的、具有早/中T型光谱类型的三个伴星之一(另外两个是HN Peg B和eps Indi B)。利用色球活动性,我们估计主星的年龄为900{+1900,-600} Myr。该值也与恒星微弱的ROSAT探测所推导的年龄一致。与该年龄范围的演化模型比较表明,HIP 38939B的质量范围为38+/-20 Mjup,有效温度范围为1090+/-60 K。用大气模型拟合我们的光谱得到最佳拟合温度为1100 K。我们将该天体纳入基准T型褐矮星群体的分析中,发现虽然较早的大气模型似乎对最冷天体的温度预测高于演化模型,但较新的大气模型提供了更好的一致性。
