采用环保气体混合物运行的阻性板室的高剂量率测试

摘要

本文展示并讨论了RPC ECOgas@GIF++合作组使用以四氟丙烯和二氧化碳为基础的新型环保气体混合物运行的阻性板室所获得的结果。旨在评估此类探测器在高辐照条件下的性能(类似于大型强子对撞机实验未来几年预期的条件)的测试已开展,结果表明其性能基本与当前使用的以四氟乙烷为基础的气体混合物相当,而后者因其可能对温室效应有贡献正逐步被淘汰。长期老化测试也正在进行中,目标是证明在大型强子对撞机整个高亮度阶段使用这些环保气体混合物的可能性。
