HL-LHC 与 HE-LHC 上的希格斯物理

摘要

2012 年 ATLAS 与 CMS 实验对希格斯玻色子的发现,是在仅拥有 LHC 预期全部数据集的百分之一时取得的成功。它开启了研究希格斯玻色子性质、电弱对称性破缺及一般标准模型的可能性图景,也为探测超越标准模型的新物理提供了新途径。发现六年后,在质心能量 13 TeV 的 LHC 运行 2 期间收集了显著更大的数据集,理论与实验粒子物理界已开始对其性质精密测量潜力的细致探索。这包括希格斯玻色子产生与衰变过程的研究、稀有衰变与产生模式的搜寻、高能可观测量,以及对扩展电弱对称性破缺部门的搜索。本报告总结了 LHC 高亮度阶段(预期 14 TeV 的 pp 碰撞数据集,对应 3 ab1^{-1} 积分亮度)中希格斯物理的潜在可达范围与机遇。这些研究基于 LHC 合作组最新分析与最新理论进展展开。同时讨论了 LHC 升级方案(质心能量 27 TeV 质子对撞,产生对应 15 ab1^{-1} 积分亮度的数据集)的潜力。
