南方避让区的 HI 亮星系

摘要
对南方避让区 (212° < l < 36°, |b| < 5°) 的 HI 亮星系进行盲目调查，使用位于 Parkes 64 m 射电望远镜上的 21 cm 多束接收器进行。该调查对约 40 Mpc 距离的正常螺旋星系以及更近的矮星系灵敏，检测到 110 颗星系。其中 67 颗在 NASA/IPAC 外银河系数据库中无对应物。总体而言，未被列入的星系背后的遮蔽厚于已列入的天体。所有新发现的星系的 HI 质量函数均低于约 1 量级的 Circinus 星系。该调查恢复了 Puppis 星团和前景群 (Kraan-Korteweg & Huchtmeier 1992)，局部空洞仍为空。对该样本推导的 HI 质量函数可采用 Schechter 函数良好拟合，参数为 alpha = 1.51 ± 0.12, Phi* = 0.006 ± 0.003, log M* = 9.7 ± 0.10。
