我们报告了对典型 Compton 厚型活跃星系 2 NGC 1068 在约 10 keV 以上首次的探测。这一探测通过 BeppoSAX 上的 PDS 仪器在 20-100 keV 范围内获得，确认了 X 射线光谱在几 keV 以上呈现硬度（如 ASCA 观测所示），并支持一种模型，即中性反射和带电反射混合，此类模型假设核连续辐射本不可见，其中中性反射分量在硬 X 射线中占主导地位。
