七分钟轨道周期食双星系统中的广义相对论轨道衰减

摘要

广义相对论预言短轨道周期双星会发射显著的引力辐射,即将发射的激光干涉空间天线(LISA)有望探测到数以万计此类系统;然而,目前极少被证认,且仅有一个是食双星——双白矮星双星 SDSS J065133.338+284423.37,其轨道周期为 12.75 分钟。在此,我们报告发现一个轨道周期仅 6.91 分钟的食双白矮星双星系统 ZTF J153932.16+502738.8。该系统的轨道周期接近 SDSS J065133.338+284423.37 的一半,且轨道极为致密,整个双星可纳入土星直径之内。该系统呈现深食与双线光谱特征。我们观测到快速的轨道衰减,与广义相对论预期一致。ZTF J153932.16+502738.8 是靠近 LISA 灵敏度峰值附近的显著引力辐射源,并应在 LISA 观测的首周内被探测到。
