本文概述了致力于星系中气体与恒星的三维光学/近红外和亚毫米/射电观测的ESO/Radionet研讨会。将不会出版会议论文集，但报告可在 http://www.eso.org/sci/meetings/gal3D2008/program.html 获取。本次ESO/Radionet研讨会的主要目的是将从事三维河外星系数据研究的光学/近红外和亚毫米/射电领域的学者聚集在一起。超过150位科学家参加了此次会议。由于篇幅限制，本文提供了一个必然带有偏见的会议概述。
