QSO受掩演化的伽马射线探测

摘要
活动星系核(AGN)中的大量吸收可能是QSO演化早期阶段的明确特征,这一观点被用来解释在z~1至z~3处X射线吸收AGN的亚毫米波观测,这些观测显示在850 μm处有强辐射。这种强辐射是大量恒星形成的标志。在AGN演化模型中,QSO的主要受掩增长阶段与宿主星系椭球的形成同时发生,后者的完成标志着QSO演化明亮、无掩阶段的开始。通过应用伽马射线共振吸收方法,验证该模型在高达z~6红移处的可能性似乎是可行的。
