星系动物园:CANDELS 棒旋星系盘与棒旋比例

摘要

盘星系中棒状结构的形成是种群动力学成熟度的示踪剂。先前的研究发现,盘星系中棒状结构的发生率从本地宇宙到 z1z \sim 1 呈下降趋势,且模拟预测在 z>1z > 1 时,动力学成熟盘中的棒状特征应极为罕见。在此,我们报告了在 CANDELS 的深度静止帧光学图像中,发现 z1.5z \sim 1.5 的大质量盘星系中存在强烈的棒状结构。在 Galaxy Zoo 中通过视觉分类识别出的 876 个盘星系样本中,我们识别出 123 个棒旋星系。在演化的星系光度函数的同一区域内(亮度高于 LL^*)选择一个子样本,我们发现红移范围 0.5<z<20.5 < z < 2 内的棒旋比例(校正不完全性后 fbar=10.73.5+6.3%f_{bar} = 10.7^{+6.3}_{-3.5}\%)没有显著演化。我们讨论了这一发现对现有模拟以及我们对过去 110 亿年盘星系演化方式当前理解的影响。
