我们认为，可以通过两种 nothing 的存在来回答"为何存在 something 而非 nothing"的问题。我们提出，物质发生在两种 nothing 的交界处。这符合普遍观点，即存在三个世界：概念世界（Platon 世界）、物质世界（即物质）以及非物质世界（即意识）。物质世界和非物质世界各自拥有自己的类型 of nothing，从而导致了此提议。该解释提供了一种与属性或本质二元论不同的二元性类型，可能实现两者的统一。该解释还对理解物理因果性有所影响，Mach 原理作为交界处返回对 aether 概念的实现。
