本讲座包含一种描述 Z' 物理的教科书化方法，采用形式因子 formalism。通常仅用形式因子描述电弱校正，这些校正修改 Weinberg angle 和整体归一化。演示了如何将该 formalism 扩展以包括不同的 Born 贡献。在讲座的第二部分中，讨论了 QCD 和 QED 校正。详细讨论了包含 Z' 搜索的辐射尾的开发与后果。
