中子星低质量X射线双星GX 3+1的首次分光偏振观测

摘要
我们报告了由成像X射线偏振探测探测器(IXPE)联合NICER和NuSTAR对明亮的环状中子星低质量X射线双星GX 3+1进行的首次同时X射线分光偏振观测。该源在2-8 keV能带未表现出显著的偏振,偏振度在99%置信水平上的上限为1.3%。观测到的光谱可以用热盘辐射、硬康普顿化成分以及吸积盘反射光子的组合很好地描述。特别是,从宽的Fe Kα线轮廓,我们能够确定系统的倾角(i ≈ 36°),这对于将观测到的偏振与理论模型进行比较至关重要。GX 3+1的光谱和偏振特性都与IXPE观测到的其他环状源一致。因此,我们可以预期吸积系统和热的康普顿化区域具有相似的几何结构。低偏振也与系统的低倾角一致。
