利用完整MoEDAL捕获探测器在13 TeV质子-质子碰撞中对双荷子的首次搜寻

摘要

MoEDAL捕获探测器由约800 kg铝体组成。在LHC计划的Run-2期间,它暴露于LHCb相互作用点处6.46 fb^-1的13 TeV质子-质子碰撞中。通过将构成探测器的铝体穿过SQUID磁强计,搜寻被捕获在捕获探测器中的双荷子(具有电荷与磁荷的粒子)的证据。捕获的双荷子的存在将由SQUID磁强计中感生的持续电流来指示。基于Drell-Yan产生模型,我们排除了磁荷最高达5个Dirac磁荷、电荷最高达基本电荷200倍、质量限制在790–3130 GeV范围内的双荷子。
