Micro-X 探空火箭于 2018 年 7 月 22 日的飞行标志着过渡边传感器(Transition-Edge Sensors)及其 SQUID 读出电路的首次空间运行。该仪器将微量热计阵列与成像镜结合,以从延展 X 射线源获取高分辨率能谱。首次飞行目标为仙后座 A 超新星遗迹。尽管火箭指向故障导致无目标观测时间,但飞行数据被用于评估仪器性能并证明有效载荷的飞行可行性。仪器成功实现了稳定的低温环境,执行了所有飞行操作,并观测到来自我校准源的光子。与地面运行相比,飞行环境未对探测器性能产生显著影响。该飞行提供了关于外部磁场和仪器配置对探测器性能影响的宝贵测试。这次飞行是这些探测器和读出技术飞行准备度的里程碑,二者均已被选用于未来的 X 射线天文台。
