宇宙射线空气簇射微波发射的首次实验表征

摘要

我们报告了对广延空气簇射微波无线电发射整体特性的首次直接测量。利用 KASCADE-Grande 空气簇射阵列提供的触发信号,读取了 CROME(通过微波发射观测宇宙射线)实验的微波天线信号,并搜索了 GHz 频段内高能空气簇射的无线电发射特征。已检测到 30 多个能量高于 3×10163\times10^{16} eV 的簇射的微波信号。本快报中提出的观测结果与 GHz 频段内主要向前定向且偏振的发射过程一致。测量表明,微波辐射为研究能量高于 101710^{17} eV 的空气簇射提供了一种新手段。
