弱相互作用大质量粒子 (WIMPs) 形式的暗物质的一个独特信号将是伽马射线天空中单色谱线的探测。Fermi-LAT 合作组已在银河系中心周围的五个天区范围内，搜寻了能量范围从 5 到 300 GeV 的此类谱线。未检测到具有全局显著性的谱线，并给出了单色谱线强度的 95% 置信水平 (CL) 上限。最小的搜寻区域在 133 GeV 处揭示了一个类谱线结构，在 4.4 年的数据后其局部显著性为 2.9 sigma，考虑到约 200 的试验因子，这转化为小于 1 sigma 的全局显著性。
