摘要
我们描述了用于在大数据库中搜索变长间隙（VLG）模式的索引。VLG 模式由两个或更多子模式组成，在每对相邻子模式之间有一个间隙约束，指定子模式之间允许距离的上界和下界。VLG 模式在计算生物学（基序搜索）、信息检索（例如，用于语言模型、摘要生成、机器翻译）中有众多应用，并且涵盖了实践中常用于搜索源代码的正则表达式的一个有用子类。我们的最佳方法在广泛的模式和文本范围内提供比现有技术快数倍的搜索速度。
