已观测到竖直上抛冷原子的单脉冲三维磁聚焦。使用了四种不同的透镜构型来改变径向和轴向聚焦特性的相对关系。在所有四种构型下均观测到紧凑聚焦的 85Rb 云。结果表明，用原子光学射线矩阵方法描述透镜作用是不充分的。使用透镜磁场的全近似数值模拟与透镜的径向聚焦特性非常吻合。然而，轴向（竖直方向）聚焦特性的描述较差，本文讨论了其原因。
