本白皮书讨论了未来观测可能探测到的系外行星的多样性,以便在大空间旗舰任务即将到来的时代开展比较行星学研究。主要焦点将放在表征类太阳恒星周围的类地世界上。然而,我们也将能够同时表征系统中的伴生行星。这不仅将提供关于我们太阳系的背景图景,也呈现了在不同轨道距离观测尺寸依赖的行星大气的独特机会。我们提出了一种基于行星大气中气体与凝结物的化学行为的初步方案,依据行星半径和入射恒星通量对其进行分类。
