具有复杂大气的演化恒星:高光谱分辨率中红外视角

摘要

红巨星外层大气的物理结构尚不清楚。它们无疑十分复杂,且近期的观测表明我们需要采用非经典大气模型来解释这些区域。该区域的性质至关重要,尤其是对于理解这些恒星的质量损失机制,而该机制目前仍未被完全理解。在此,我们基于中红外高光谱分辨率光谱,提出了对红巨星外层区域的观测约束。我们还讨论了可能的非局部热动平衡(non-LTE)效应,并介绍了一种将用于分析这些大气层光谱的新型 non-LTE 代码。最后,我们提到了利用 SOFIA/EXES 对红巨星在 6 微米波段的新观测,在该波段首次探测并光谱分辨出了水蒸气的振动 - 转动谱线。
