在辐射性Upsilon(2S)衰变中发现eta_b(1S)介子的证据

摘要
我们利用在SLAC国家加速器实验室PEP-II B工厂的BABAR探测器记录的9160万个Upsilon(2S)事件样本，在Upsilon(2S)共振态的辐射衰变中搜索了eta_b(1S)介子。我们在光子能谱中观测到一个峰，其能量E_gamma = 609.3 {+4.6} {-4.5}（统计）± 1.9（系统）MeV，对应的eta_b(1S)质量为9394.2 {+4.8} {-4.9}（统计）± 2.0（系统）MeV/c^2。衰变Upsilon(2S) → gamma eta_b(1S)的分支比被确定为[3.9 ±1.1（统计）{+1.1} {-0.9}（系统）] × 10^{-4}。我们得到分支比之比B[Upsilon(2S) → gamma eta_b(1S)]/B[Upsilon(3S) → gamma eta_b(1S)] = 0.82 ± 0.24（统计）{+0.20}{-0.19}（系统）。
