Lindsay 1 是小麦哲伦云 (SMC) 中的一个中等年龄（约 8 Gyr）大质量星团。利用 VLT FORS2 对该星团下红巨星支上 16 个 probable 星团成员星的光谱，我们测量了 CN 和 CH 带强度（分别位于 3883 和 4300 埃），以及碳和氮丰度，发现存在一个具有显著氮富集的子星族。碳丰度缺乏弥散排除了演化混合作为该富集来源的可能性，因此我们得出结论：这是多重星族的证据。因此，L1 是展现此类变化的最年轻星团，这意味着触发多重星族起始的过程必须至少运作到红移 ~1。
