本文介绍了从欧几里得早期释放观测计划“放大透镜”中搜寻高红移星系的结果。双Abell透镜星系团场覆盖的1.5平方度区域,其大小与COSMOS等其他少数深度近红外巡天相当,因此为显著增加已知的z≈6-8处稀有紫外明亮星系(M_UV≲-22)样本提供了机会。除了它们在再电离中仍不确定的作用外,这些紫外明亮星系是研究星系形成和约束紫外光度函数亮端的理想实验室。在从组合的Y_E、J_E和H_E NISP探测图像检测到的501,994个源中,有168个没有明显的VIS/I_E流量。这些天体在光谱颜色上范围很广,分为两类:139个极红源;以及29个莱曼断裂星系候选体。最佳拟合红移和光谱模板表明,前者由z≳5的尘埃恒星形成星系和z≈1-3的宁静系统组成。后者由更均匀的z≈6-8的莱曼断裂星系组成。在这两种情况下,仅凭欧几里得图像无法排除L型和T型矮星的污染。使用新颖的时间序列分析研究了来自仪器持久性的额外污染。这项工作为未来在欧几里得深场中的搜寻奠定了基础,届时将识别出数千个z≳6的莱曼断裂系统和极红源。
