在许多中等光度和红移的活动星系核(AGN)中发现了X射线光谱斜率的变化，通常表现出“越亮越软”的行为。然而，类似的研究通常不针对高光度AGN进行。我们基于从XMM-Newton Serendipitous Source Catalogue第五版中提取的、在多个不同历元测量、覆盖宽广光度和红移区间的大样本类星体，提出了光谱变异性分析。我们的分析证实了我们的样本也存在“越亮越软”趋势，将先前发现的普遍行为扩展到了高光度和高红移。这些结果可以根据当前的光谱模型来理解，例如X射线原初辐射的内禀变化，或与恒定反射成分的叠加。
