我们观察到水箱实验中沙床的时间演化，并通过一种不考虑复杂流体动力学的简单模型进行了模拟。初始沙床的形状演化为横向纹理，即具有垂直于流向的直线脊线的沙丘。随后，称为巴尔肯带的椭圆形沙丘从横向纹理中涌现出来。
