高颗粒度强子量能器的电磁响应

CALICE 合作组正在研究未来国际直线对撞机探测器中高性能电磁和强子量能器的设计。对于强子量能器,一种方案是采用钢作为吸收体、闪烁体层作为活性材料的高颗粒度取样量能器。通过将闪烁体分割成小块,并利用硅光电倍增管(SiPM)单独读出,实现了高颗粒度。已建造了一个包含三十八个灵敏层、约八千个通道的原型机。2007 年,该原型机在 CERN SPS 束流上接受了正电子和强子的照射,覆盖了广泛的束流能量和入射角范围。如此大量通道的单元均衡和校准挑战,最好通过电磁过程来验证。本文研究并描述了该钢-闪烁体量能器原型机对电子的响应,包括线性和均匀性。
