我们审查和评估了四种形成冷凝体的机制：(i) 从其胎盘前星际核心中动力学驱逐的恒星胚胎；(ii) 派生压缩层的透明度限制破碎；(iii) 由脉冲式与其他盘或裸星相互作用触发的盘内引力不稳定；(iv) 对既有核心的光消耗。所有这些机制都可以产生自由浮动的冷凝体，但只有 (ii) 和 (iii) 可能产生冷凝体多星系， (i) 在向带有盘的冷凝体输送方面存在困难。
