我们展示了证据，表明红巨星 ksi Hya 的振荡模式寿命 tau 约为 2 天，显著短于理论预测值（tau = 17 天，Houdek & Gough 2002）。如果这是红巨星的普遍趋势，那么由于振荡的相干性较差，这将限制对这些恒星进行星震学研究的可能性。
