天琴座RR型星V716 Monocerotis的距离

我们给出了变星V716 Monocerotis (= NSV 03775)的高质量BVRI CCD测光数据。我们确认它是一颗ab型（即基模脉动）天琴座RR型星，并通过其光变曲线的傅里叶分量确定了其金属丰度([Fe/H] = -1.33 ± 0.25)、光度(Mv = 0.80 ± 0.06)和前景红化(E(B-V) = 0.05-0.17)。这些参数表明其距离为4.1 ± 0.3千秒差距，将V716 Mon置于银河系盘面附近，远在太阳圈之外。这项研究是1999年塞罗托洛洛美洲天文台(CTIO)的本科生研究经历(REU)和天文学研究实践(PIA)项目的一部分。
