从BL Lac天体PKS 0548-322发现甚高能伽马射线

摘要

PKS 0548-322 (z=0.069)是一个“高峰频率”BL Lac天体,由于其高X射线和射电流量,它是一个候选甚高能(VHE,E>100 GeV)伽马射线发射源。对VHE波段的观测提供了对该源中存在的极高能粒子起源以及起作用的辐射过程的见解。我们报告了2004年10月至2008年1月期间使用H.E.S.S.阵列(四个成像大气切伦科夫望远镜)进行的观测。还报告了2006年11月Swift卫星的同时期紫外和X射线观测。PKS 0548-322首次在VHE波段被H.E.S.S.探测到。我们测量到216个伽马射线的超出,对应5.6个标准差的显著性。源的光子谱由幂律描述,光子指数为Gamma=2.86 +/- 0.34(统计) +/- 0.10(系统)。200 GeV以上的积分通量为蟹状星云通量的1.3%,且随时间恒定。同时期的Swift/XRT观测揭示了2至10 keV之间的X射线通量为F_{2-10 keV}=2.3 +/- 0.2 x 10^{-11} erg.cm^{-2}. s^{-1},与之前的观测相比处于中间强度状态。能谱分布可以使用简单的单区同步自康普顿模型再现,其参数与观测到的其他此类源相似。
